The Queen’s Award for Voluntary Service is the highest award given to local volunteer groups across the UK to recognise outstanding work done in their own communities. It was created in 2002 to celebrate the anniversary of The Queen’s coronation. It is the MBE for volunteer groups.
It was awarded to HRA on 2nd June 2018 in the Queens Birthday Honours.
David Blackett, Chair of the HRA said “this award is a worthy tribute to the hard work of many HRA volunteers over the last 90 years as well as a recognition of the current contribution of HRA to the preservation of our heritage and the maintenance of an acceptable standard of environment for all residents of Heston and the wider community”.
