The Friends of Osterley Park have around 170 Friends and are always ready to welcome new members. Our subscription charges are very modest: £10 for an individual or £16 for two people living at the same address. This gives access to the quarterly newsletter, monthly coffee mornings with talks, local visits and coach trips. Coming up in the next few months:
· Monday, 7 April – visit to Tallow Chandlers Hall (near Cannon Street)
· Wednesday, 30 April – AGM + coffee morning – Chris Cleeve, General Manager, Osterley – The Trust’s new 10 year strategy and what it means for Osterley
· Thursday, 8 May – coach trip to Standen House
· Monday, 19 May – visit to Stephens House & Gardens, Finchley
· Thursday, 29 May – coffee morning – Michael Peacock – the history of Brentford
· Tuesday, 3 June – coach trip to Mottisfont Abbey
Non-members are welcome to attend our coffee mornings: we charge £4 for coffee, tea and biscuits to Friends and £5 to visitors; these take place at 1030 for 1100 in the Study Base at Osterley – just turn up! Our local visits and coach trips are individually priced with an additional £2 charged to non-members.
Those of you who visit Osterley regularly will have noticed that the scaffolding has come down following the completion of the South Wing project. This cost over £400,000 from the roof down to the basement to put right many years of weather damage. This necessitated the partial closure of the State rooms which have now re-opened and look wonderful. The house is open Wednesday through Sunday from 1100-1600.
